Reviews Cuisinart DGB-650BC Grind-and-Brew Thermal 10-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker, Brushed Metal

I replaced a many year old bruan machine. The flavors from this Cuisinart DGB-650BC Grind-and-Brew Thermal 10-Cup machine are wonderful. Coffee is made hot, stays hot and tastes great. I'm used to this coffee maker but do realize you have to take the grinder OUT and clean it after each use....and the grounds basket (the gold filter basket), it's not that big of a deal but I see some people complain about it.

The coffee is delicious, so much better than the Mr. Coffee kind of brewers! Don't know why....it just is. Researched like mad before paying this much for another coffee maker but it's worth it, something to do with the heat of the water, time to perk, something but it's DELICIOUS and that's what counts.

The main reason I went with this unit, was Cuisineart had the only ones in Bed Bath & Beyond which can be programmed to grind then brew. The grinder is a Blade Grinder. This unit DOES NOT allow you to tune the fineness of the grind. It give a medium grind, not coarse, not fine.

Someone said the grind is too coarse, I disagree. In any case, there are many ways for you to control the taste of the coffee with this model. No Coffeemaker makes the brew YOU LIKE unless you tell it how. The taste is governed by the amount of coffee (coffee beans or pre-ground coffee), and the amount of water.

Oh, and whether you are using the "1-4 Cup" setting. Oh, and whether you use the "Gold Tone" permanent filter or a paper filter. Oh, and don't forget the coffee blend and roast level. I have mine programmed to start brewing at 8:30am. And believe it or not, despite the fact that there is no heater that runs after it's done brewing... the coffee stays HOT for a long time.

It stays piping hot for several hours, and even at 2:30pm, it is still drinkably warm. I never expected it to stay that warm for 6 hours, far exceeded my expecations. Cuisinart has a more expensive model than this one, but it was $70 more and the only feature that really seemed to be valuable was it's "burr grinder" which is supposedly better.

So, we've been using this Cuisinart DGB-650BC Grind-and-Brew machine for 15 months now. We have no problems with it. And the coffee is so good I quit drinking coffee with sugar and cream. More than 532 people has been buy Cuisinart DGB-650BC Grind-and-Brew Thermal 10-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker, Brushed Metal  and 92% are satisfied (as 01/05/2014).
